A customer in Truro asked us to replace their Bath stone columns at the main entrance to their town house…

Bath stone is actually a limestone and there’s a few open cast limestone quarries up in and around Bath.
We’ve been working with a couple of Bath stone quarries for the last 6 or 7 years.

Alex has just installed the column bases and is preparing for the columns.

And he’s using a two part resin to help bond the stainless steel dowels in place.

The base and heads are pre-drilled ready for the installation of the stainless steel dowels.

We cut the Bath stone columns to the exact length on site before pre-drilling the ends of each column.

All stainless steel dowels are fitted using resin.

We can now fully install both the Bath stone columns.
When the column is vertical the steel dowel also sits vertically in position.

These new Bath stone columns have blended in really well.

Some of the bath stone quarry companies mine their limestone underground, which is quite amazing to see.

Some old photos too…
