Our customer from Cubert near Newquay in Cornwall loves marble bathrooms, and asked us to supply & Install marble wall tiles. But after a lot of deliberation, the customer decided to use large Carrara marble slabs instead.

And even better than that, we found some some unique book match Carrara Slabs marble from one of our, which look stunning.

So as always, our first job is to survey each slab.

We then have to line up all the pieces to make sure we get the book match veining running correctly on the walls & the floor.

Cutting can now commence…

And as each piece comes off the saw, we dry and seal before taking to site for installation.

We can now get started with the installation. It’s best practice to dry fit before laying on adhesive, just to make sure everything is spot on.

As with most bathrooms, especially the higher end bathrooms, there are lot’s of brackets & pipes that come through the walls & floor. We surveyed and templated this bathroom before manufacturing, so we know that all of our holes and slots are in the right place before coming to site.

We installed the marble on an Aquapanel boarding which was installed for us by the building contractor.

You will probably have read in many articles that marble will stain easily, and the lighter the marble, the more easily it will stain.

These statements are true, so it’s important to seal marble.

We are certified applicators and stockists of Dry Treat Stain Proof, which is a micro porous sealant for natural stone and porcelain.

You can view all the necessary information on Dry Treats website here www.drytreat.com

Due to Dry Treats unique micro porous technology, the sealant actually lines the capillaries of the stone. Allowing the stone to breath.

But because the sealant sits within the stone rather than on top like the old surface sealers used to.

It means that you don’t have to re-seal your stone every 6 to 12 months.

You can go without re-sealing for ages.

Marble is easy to clean and using hot soapy water is sufficient most of the time.

But if you want to clean your marble with a cleaning product it’s best to use a ph neutral product.

And we recommend using a product like Hanafin Rejuvenata, which we also stock.
