Wych Elm is a newly built house in Bath where the emphasis was on design. This house has a huge amount of character which was clearly down to the owners who had a massive involvement with the project. We were introduced to this client via a mutual contractor and have now been contracted to carry out various jobs directly by the clients.
The first stage of works was to clad one side of the house using Slate Walling Stone from Cornwall. Before the walling stone can be installed there are certain preparation works that must be carried out. Our first job was to install a block built foundation for the walling stone to sit on.
Once the block built foundation was constructed we were able to install the damp proof tray and surecav panels. The house is of timber frame construction, so the sure cav panels offer a quick install method as opposed to using either a timber shutter system or backer block system. The surecav panels also offer a clean moisture free cavity.
