We have now completed the installation of sandstone paving at a project near Liskeard in Cornwall, and set to work pointing the joints.
We are using GftK joint mortar which is really easy to use and produces a decent finish without having to touch the mortar during application.
It’s really simple, just mix the two-part mortar together, tip on to the paving and brush it into the joints.
With this product it’s best to use a hose pipe to ease application of the mortar, in fact the more water you have the easier it is to apply.
This means that you can now point in the rain, as long as the rain isn’t too heavy otherwise the heavy rain drops will effect the finish. Light drizzle is perfect.
The pointing is now complete and only took one day to do.
This natural stone paving has quite a heavy riven, and has split edges.
The rustic appearance of this sandstone paving was important, as the customer wanted it to blend in with the surroundings.
And once the soft landscaping is complete it will look a picture.
The two stone circles create a lovely feature, especially with the mill stone and water feature.
