We supplied and installed these Brazilian multi colour slate flooring tiles in an old cottage on the outskirts of St Austell.

Our first job as always is to survey the substrate, we need to see how much the substrate undulates.

And most substrates will require some self levelling to make sure they are as flat as possible.
The flatter the floor, the less lippage will occur.

So we get cracking with the tile laying.
We are laying these multi colour slate tiles to an Opus pattern.
The tiles are calibrated to a thickness of 10mm.

Here’s the floor completed.
All the cutting in has just finished and the floor has been washed down.

We start to grout the floor using a light grey grout from the Mapei range, chosen my our customer.

With the grout complete, the final job to do is seal.

We apply the sealer to the multi colour slate tiles using a low pressure spray, and buff off using a cloth.
It’s a really quick & simple method of application.

We seal most of our natural stone using Dry Treat Stain Proof.

You can view all the necessary information on Dry Treats website here
www.drytreat.com
Due to Dry Treats unique micro porous technology, the sealant actually lines the capillaries of the stone.
So it sits within the stone rather than on top like the old surface sealers used too.
This means that you don’t have to re-seal every 6 to 12 months.
You can go without re-sealing for many years.
